Stellababe99 (2020 - 2022)

Stellababe99 is a new media project created in 2020, and ended in 2022, under the alias addrianna lipburn. Set in 2007, the project focused on fictional teenager Stella Brooks and her personal website, which had been hacked by her old best friends Mona Cavanagh and Adam Barbera.

Inspired by abandoned fan-sites on Angelfire and Geocities, this project is an experiment in testing the realities of the internet and debate whether or not to believe in the information provided to us. It tackles a variety of subject matters such as early-internet nostalgia, cyberbullying, and unsolved mysteries. With the ambiguity of the project, viewers were invited to investigate the many loopholes on Stella’s blog that led to dead-ends and other mysteries.

As the project expanded over time, viewers could also come across external sources such as Mona’s blog, as well as old fan-videos and music remixes that were reuploaded onto YouTube by user “Stellababe99Reupload”.
